Name: Laniz
Age: 37
Gender: Female
Rank: Citizen, Stablemaster
Basic Appearance
Hair: Long, wavy and neatly groomed. Ranging from light blonde to dark honey colored locks. It is normally kept in one of two styles - a tight braid, or hanging loosely down to her mid back, tied at the sides.
Eyes: Aquamarine, leaning more towards blue
Build: Average. She's a woman with meat on her bones but far from overweight, with thighs that touch - thanks to the weight-gain of child bearing. Above that, a thin under-toned waist, and long frail arms.
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 162
Special Features: Light stretch marks across the front face of her mid-section.
Combat Credentials
Combat Style: Laniz has no combat style, but she can maneuver like a master on a horse. She is not trained in physical combat beyond her basic instincts.
Abilities: Horse-wrangling, horse training, animal mastery, animal breeding.
Gear: Handmade saddle, brown leather riding boots. A small knife bought for protection only.
Bio/Backstory:
Laniz arrived at the Kingdom of Etirath when she was 17. Her parents, traveling merchants on a constant search for a place to haggle and barter, happened upon the mountainous paradise during an out-of-character migration to the North. They entered the city with no plans for staying, but never left. With the constant coming and going of new and exotic people, Laniz's family was never short on commerce, so they never faced the necessity to move on. Her parents even set up a storefront called Silva's Sundries - mother's name, of course.
Laniz was thankful for the stability. She'd moved around with her parents since the day she was born. She'd seen poverty, wealth, dry lands and wet lands... everything a needy soul with wanderlust could possibly imagine. Travel was quickly crossed off of her "bucket list". She craved a home with a backyard that didn't change every couple of weeks. That is was Etirath blessed her with. It also gave her the opportunity to start her own business.
She'd saved money from working with her parents - enough to buy a large ranch on the edge of the Rural District and two healthy, show worthy horses. It nearly depleted the savings she'd built since childhood, but this was her dream. Travel exposed Laniz to a lot of different things, like animals and creatures and beasts of each unique shape, size, and demeanor. Her mother bragged about the daughter that could tame anything, and her father bitched about all the monstrosities that his daughter drug into their home. Laniz obviously preferred the fanfare from her mother. It went without saying, Laniz found her calling early on in life.
The mare and stallion turned into a field full of beautiful horses, and their quality generated a lot of interest. After three years of ups and downs, Laniz was recognized as the best breeder and animal trainer in the kingdom. Her ranch and boarding stables, The Old Grey Mare, was a place for: riding lessons, animal shows, riding competitions, and general gazing... it was her home, and her life.
It wasn't long before Laniz had even more to live for. Cory Burgess, the timid librarian, captured her heart and stole her smile. He'd still deny that if you asked him, though. A couple years later they had a set of beautiful girls, fraternal twins, Story and Alice. Laniz loved being their mother even more than she loved her horses, and she loved Cory... but his feeble body had left her worrying more often than not.
