To say that Eoin felt nervous was a gross understatement. He remembered, as a child, his parents having wonderful homes filled with herbs, recipes, and hundreds of different substances that would be used in complex rituals to nurture and care for the world. When he returned to his home of old so many decades later, it was not that he did not have these things, rather it was that he did not understand how to utilize any of it. Until recently, he hadn't dedicated any time to learning any of it either.
Then Loretta came along...
That temptress, that seductive darling who held a grip over Eoin's heart. The faun, the last of Milova's blessed, was more drawn to love than any other being alive. However, he long ago detached himself from any sort of emotional love. Fantastic at physical love, or so he thought himself, Eoin was no stranger to the game of seduction. He thought he knew how to avoid getting himself emotionally involved with any woman. Yet somehow, this girl ignored every rule in the book and still snatched his cold heart with the grip of a hot iron.
Standing in an empty classroom with an old tome in his hand, he continued to leaf through it while he waited for Loretta. His quick eyes studying a particular ancient rite, one that could temporarily repel goblins from a section of land. Perhaps they could try their hand at that together. The thought of Loretta helping him, Eoin holding her hand as they wove magic together, spread butterflies through his stomach. Why did he feel this way? It infuriated, fascinated, and excited him all at the same time.
As Eoin waited, he became absorbed in his book and thoughts so much that he would not notice any arrivals.

The two managed to set a reservation for one of the classrooms within the college so as not to disturb others with the privacy to learn at their own pace. Ever since Eoin had taken her to his old home that he visits often, she had been feeling her old self again. The pain she typically felt alone was but a memory when he shared with her his presence. It was comforting. As the typically dressed Loretta rounded about the corner, she entered the occupied classroom with newfound curiosity and happily ready to learn beside Eoin.
She easily spotted the shirtless Faun and this time, not a hint of a blush crept up on her for once. She had grown accustomed to seeing him so. Eoin seemed so deeply lost in the old book he read that Loretta wondered if he even heard her step in.
To see him so concentrated that he blocked the world around him out, she couldn't help herself. The whimsical urge to tease him was too much to pass. She just had to and twas his own fault for letting his guard down in the first place. A grin formed as she thought of an innocent and silly idea to pull. She neared as quietly and quickly as she could and reached out to him. Her slender hands covered his eyes as she practically hugged him from behind. A soft giggle could be heard as she she playfully inquired him with a cheery smile.
"Guess who~?"

One moment, he was reading about the less than fascinating, finer aspects of performing a fertility ritual on the ground. The next, his dreary view was obscured by a pair of small, gentle hands. Feeling the gentle warmth of Loretta against his back, the Faun sighed and his scowl softened a bit before he responded.
"As if I could mistake the sweetest voice I've ever heard."
Lifting his hands, he answered Loretta's question before gently placing his own on hers and lifting them away.
"Hello Loretta."
Looking up at her from his seat, he smiled for a split second before motioning for her to sit next to him. Handing her the book, he motioned to the concordance and spoke while pulling up his pipe from where he left it on the floor. Lighting it, he spoke as a heavy, sweet smell lifted on the smoke from the pipe. It certainly wasn't tobacco in there this time.
"You can pick anything from there. Bar summoning some great ancient spirit to defend the land, we can learn pretty much anything you'd like."

"Hello Loretta."
The way he complimented her was enough to warm her cheeks yet she didn't shy away. Her smile grew as he greeted her knowing full well whose hands he held. And for a quick moment Loretta saw him give her a smile. Short lived as it was, it was still a smile for her. She sat in a chair beside him and leafed through the book he gave her. The sweet scent from Eoin's pipe had wafted over to her nose that was so strange yet enjoyable. What was that substance? She wondered what it could be as she skimmed the pages. She was at a loss as she read. The many spells and usage were insurmountable that she felt overwhelmed at the thought.
"Why don't we try something more.. basic? I don't believe I'll be capable of summoning an ancient spirit anytime soon.." she mused. As she continued in her search through the book, she noticed a few that didn't seem to appear as advanced as the others
"What about this?" She leaned over to Eoin and shared the page she found which depicted a seed, a seedling growing, and its bloom. More writing under described other ways to use this in other processes.
