It wasn't long after the two had agreed to help one another in their new-found shared goal that night had fallen upon them. And in the calm that followed, Azalea had returned to her old form. It took some time but she managed. The state had a near permanent affect but for the moment, she was her old self again. The calm, collected, and ever stoic Azalea. Impartial to the world aside to those she thought endearing. And yet she was not that Azalea anymore. She was different.
Azalea knew what she needed to do, what she needed to say to bring about the Lord of Fear, and to bring him to his knees. She had but only thought it moments ago and yet it was just what she needed. She did not know whether or not it would work but she'd try it anyway. Holly stood beside the shifting statue that resembled a child, she wouldn't be interfering but still needed to stay close enough to keep the effect. And so Azalea reached out to him, called out in such a way to challenge him. She knew he would expect something of an outburst from her. And she gave him exactly that, and she will continue to play along with him until the opportune moment arises.
"Come, Dread Lord, show me what it means to be in a living hell. I invite you to show me the way."
It was not like her to act so boldly but Timore would only see it as her spewing steam. More talk and her doing nothing as always. But, surely he'd entertain her regardless?

As Azalea was returning to her original form, Holly had wandered off momentarily in order to regain control of her emotions. Moving about the rooftops, she observed a group of human children running around and playing. A gentle smile crossed Holly's darkened features as she came near, seeking to get just close enough to hear them. They were singing a tune she believed she recognized. As she came within earshot, her blood ran cold as their lyrics drifted to her.
"His smile fresh as spring, as towards him he draws you. His Tongue sharp and silvery, as he implores you. Your wishes he grants, as he swears to adore you. Gold, silver, jewels he lays riches before you. Dues need be repaid and he will come for you. All to reclaim, no smile to console you. He'll snare you in bonds eyes glowin' afire, To gore and torment you 'til the stars expire."
Sitting in the midst of the children, seemingly ignored by the young eyes, was a black, smokey, faceless figure. It turned towards Holly, and a wide, teethy grin spread across its features.
She ran.
--------
Sitting near Azalea, Holly clutched a single feather near her chest. Having finally ceased molting, the navy blue skinned girl felt comfortable in the light, tattered tunic she now wore. Her cloak discarded, having no reason to conceal herself, she steeled her nerves. As Azalea called out, the small spirit knew that Timore would not be long off.
Stepping from the shadows, the tall, faceless monster revealed himself. His shell curled away from his head, revealing a wide smile and deep blue eyes, but it retracted no further. Holding out his arms in a welcoming manner, he answered Azalea's summons.
"My dear, how have you been? Finally coming around to my viewpoint? Or do we need another lesson delivered straight to the heart?"
His grating, multi-voiced laugh echoed throughout the garden as he found humor in his own cruel comment. A spear began formulating in his hand, though he neither brandished it nor prepared for a fight.

"My dear, how have you been? Finally coming around to my viewpoint? Or do we need another lesson delivered straight to the heart?"
If it had been any other night, Azalea might have reacted differently, much differently. Instead, the curve of her lips grew into a widening grin that had split apart as laughter ensued to match his own. It didn't last long as she had cut herself short as an unimpressed expression followed after.
"How amusing.." she began, her tone had fallen to that of someone disinterested. "I suppose I am well enough, but what of you? How have you been faring with my gift?" The moment she asked the question, a surge of growth could be felt within Timore as the cursed roots writhed and grew beneath the skin at an alarming rate.
Satisfied with the result of bursting black roots, Azalea held a bemused smile as she neared Holly, a hand placed upon the dread mark that mars the back of her neck. And without so much as a pause, she activated the mark with her own power and through the mark, inhibited Timore's access to his own power all together. She held the same smile as she spoke.
"Play time is over dear. The time of your reckoning is nigh."
