It occurs to me that the reason I don't join more threads here (and for that matter any thread in the old Realm days on RPF/RPW) is because I never know where I'm welcome to throw my wrench in the gears. Chalk that up partially to me being socially awkward, even over the internet, but how does one know if something in necessarily open for anyone to join?
I've seen thread titles marked [OPEN] and [for -insert username here-] and those are loud clear whether or not they want others joining. What about those that just have the title? Is it considered rude among us to just join an ongoing thread w/o asking in Kik chat or something? I mean I'll use common sense based on where the RP is and whether I have anything meaningful to contribute for sure. Wont just come in and stab someone after things have concluded.
I don't know, I just don't wanna intrude on something somebody has been working on and throw it off base.

I've always taken it as if they don't have (open) in the title then it's best to either A. Ask permission or B. If it's a situation that your character would logically be around, hop in and damn the consequences.
I'm good to RP if you want to, though I'm sure you want to rp with more people than me, asking around on kik is a good plan. There's also a Skype chat if you want to ask ser or lebi about joining it.

I am always happy for other characters to hop in, so long as it is explainable. I hardly ever use labels to exclude or include users for that express purpose. Even if the thread is intended to be a private meeting, those can still be interrupted.
