Name: Amalynn Maya Lynnette (Ah-ma-li-nn Ma-ya Li-nn-eh-t)
Age: 148
Gender: Female
Race: Eiluned
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 110 lbs
Rank: Citizen
Basic Appearance:
Amalynn easily stands six feet two inches tall, and weighs in at one hundred ten pounds. Her build is much like a slender elf of similar height, but her lighter weight is caused by her heritage. Amalynn is colored much like her mother as such her skin has a light tan, almost akin to the color of the inner wood of a great oak; her hair has a deep green hue, much like the tree leaves from her home; and her eyes have a lush and vibrant green similar to fresh spring grass just after a light morning dew. Another sign of her heritage makes itself known by how her eyes glow with the cycles of the moon (minor changes in brightness depending on stored energy), being at their brightest during a full moon and a faint dim glow just before and after the new moon. In addition to the lovely shade of green her hair sports, it reaches down to about her mid calf; it's light and flowing strands frequently dancing with even the lightest of breezes. Sticking out the sides of her long locks are her ears, slightly similar to an elf's but instead of vertical they run parallel to her shoulders a good three inches, never reaching above her eyes. Finally we have her face, Amalynn's face appears to be like a cross between a young child and a mature woman blending seamlessly into a thing of beauty; when combined with her skin it only amplifies this fact due to how it is almost as smooth as an old rock from deep within a quick moving river.
Abilities:
**Low-Light Vision: Able to see with limited light as clearly as one would during the day.
**Ageless Growth: Amalynn will neither show nor suffer from the effects of old age, always looking as if in the prime of their youth.
**Wood Walk: Allows her to freely move from one living tree to the next so long as it is within easily visible range and she has contact with the tree desired as the start(exit tree must be seen to use).
**Natural Resistance: Highly resistant to natural poisons and diseases, when afflicted by such it has reduced effectiveness.
**Natural Speech: Naturally able to speak with and hear the voices of nature just as one may do so to a person standing beside them; in areas that have been corrupted by non natural means, such as heavy concentrations of non-Natural magic, man-made structures/modifications, and/or large scale disasters that kill all life in an area, it can cause the her to temporarily lose or weaken the connection until outside of the effected area.
**Natural Magic Affinity: Natural magic is magic attuned to the natural world. It is able to harness those natural energies to aid in growth, decay, and various elements depending on the location. It is only truly learned through a natural link to world, and harnessed through what sounds like a song but is actually the release of pheromones and speaking in the natural language. Although it may use the power of the natural world, the use of Natural magic is very draining on the user. Extended use can very easily cause the users reserves to be drained causing a state similar to loss of consciousness until they have recovered a large enough portion of their reserves to make up for lost time and standard living. While the effects can be lacking it can be boosted by having more users assist in the casting of a particular effect, thus lessening the drain on each individual and raising the range and strength of the effect.
**Metal Allergy: Amalynn is highly allergic to all forms of metal. Contact with metal burns the skin as if it made contact with a slow burning acid, said burning continues until the contact ceases. If contact is made with metal all magical ability is lost until contact ceases. Wounds caused by metal act as if she has contact with metal until healed. All metal based wounds that break the skin must be healed through magical means or else it will continue to burn the effected area until natural regeneration can seal the wound, at which point an irremovable scar will remain and all magical abilities severely weakened. Prolonged contact with metal, such as hand cuffs for approx. one day, will cause irreversible effects; one of which is the loss of magical ability permanently, the loss of contacted body parts, and in worst case scenarios death.
**Light Dependence: Amalynn does not need to sleep, instead she gathers energy from the light of the sun and the light reflected off the moon. During times where the light is weakened, such as cloudy weather, she may be drowsy and/or lethargic usually at this point she may sleep to conserve energy, but it is not often required. If away from such light for more then twelve hours, such as underground or in a building without exterior windows/openings, she will be placed in a forced hibernative state until such light is returned. Also during the night of a new moon, she will enter a forced hibernative state until the sun rises and it's rays grace her skin with their light. If left in the hibernative state for more then twenty four hours, her situation begins to become dire, in most cases life threatening.
Extra:
Due to their allergy, all Eiluned tend to eat a vegan diet. The ingestation of meats and other animal products can cause discomfort and in some cases crippling illness until digestion has run it's course.
When communicating with nature, they often sound like they are humming a song. The feeling of the "song" varies depending on what they are saying. Generally it sounds like a happy and relaxed tune, but this is not all that happens. When speaking they release pheromones to give the basic idea of what they say, but the "song" gives it deeper more defined meaning.
Due to their origin, when one dies they do not leave a body. Instead after one final breath escapes their lips the body soon reverts back to their origin. If left without light, food, and/or water long enough they will first hibernate, but if such continues they will soon die.
Death for Amalynn causes her to revert to a tree. The process is one that is both fearsome and beautiful, first her feet merge with the ground spreading roots in every direction as her body slowly morphs to a wooden texture and stands until upright. Once standing the arms spread forming sturdy branches from which smaller ones sprout, soon followed by leaves to match the season. The tree will bear no fruit and it's leaves do not fall unless killed.
To the unlearned Amalynn looks as if she were nothing more then a beautiful woman of elven descent, but if they can feel the natural energies or know much of the Eiluned such a person will notice she is more then she seems. Animals have a tendency to treat her as a part of nature itself, thus rarely bear any ill will towards her instead relaxing at her side.
Weapons: Sharpened stone Knife w/woven wood sheathe strapped to her right bicep.
Gear: Sleeveless dress made of leaves as long as her hand (from finger tip to wrist). The base of the dress reaches just past her knees and is held on her body by vines around her neck and shoulders. The dress is lightly imbued with magic to preserve the leaves color and durability.
Background:
Amalynn was brought to the world by the love between a man and nymph. They met in the First Forest, when he became lost and wandered into the deeper more untouched regions and managed to stumble upon the caretaker. He was instantly stricken, spending his next few years trying to woo this beautiful lady of the forest. What was 26 soon became 43 by the time he managed to capture her heart, within the year giving life to a beautiful young child.
The first few years were hard on the man as he tried to adapt to having the youth around, but as she grew so too did his love for the child and her mother. He spent many nights telling the young child stories of the world he was from, the world outside the forest, a place so far removed from here that it truly was like another world. The child would always listen to these stories starry eyed, absorbing it like a sponge in water. As her age began to rise into the double digits her father and mother both wanted for another child, one of these precious beings was just not enough. Once again another life was brought into the world by the pair, and thus the older child gained a little sister. But the younger sister never was able to hear the stories of this place as their father died before her memory.
With the man gone their mother was all that was left to care for the two. So she did exactly that along side her usual duties. The older child helped with the care of the younger during those moments, but when the mother returned she would always comfort the two and tell them many stories from the long history of the world. Their favorite story was the story of their grandmother, her beauty, strength, and the love shared for all her children. The story always reminded their mother of the feeling of comfort felt by their grandmothers presence, wishing that they could have felt it's gentle embrace as well.
The three women's lives continued quite merrily for several more years with no real events that stood out after their father passed. During this time the two young girls became women and were able to get more in touch with their natural half. They were both taught the intricacies of natural speech, of which they already knew the basics, and were taught how to use this language to use the world around them for feats of magic. Most of their magical training involved the protection of young plants, the increase of their growth size and speed, the cleansing of plants, and how to cast/the benefits of casting the same spell with the help of others. Despite their peaceful and happy lives the elder child could not help but feel longing for the world of her fathers stories. Every now and then she would find something that reminds her of her father which always caused the longing within her to grow. Having taken after her father and picking up his faster pace, the elder child was getting more and more restless; while the younger had the slower more relaxed pace of her mother, especially due to not knowing her father outside of relayed stories.
Not able to take her restlessness much longer and feeling an attachment to the world beyond her home, the elder child said her goodbyes and left to learn of the world beyond with naught but a promise to return at some point to share stories of her adventure.
