Tim shortly after arriving, decided that his first stop should be in the underground catacombs. With nary even a torch he began to work his way into the dark passages that ran underneath the grand city above. His irises glowing a golden hue, using his powers to allow him to see in the dark passages, at several points did he see shadows running along the walls, possibly angry spirits. He took a mental note to return later to deal with them should they start to cause problems. The sounds of his foot steps being the only noise accompanying him, until at last he reached a large chamber that he assumed to be the middle of the catacombs, based off the tunnels leading off in multiple directions from here. Wasting no time he quickly strode to the center of the chamber, bowing down on one knee, while a paladin's abilities don't truly come from a diety that didn't stop Tim. " Sympati, I pray for your merciful hands to ease the suffering of those trapped in this plane. I pray for pity on those they have left behind in this world. Lastly I pray for your mercy to fall on those who would reap such misery, for I shall show them none."

Anima had a feeling. Perhaps it was coincidence, or perhaps it was a facet of her being. But without fail, it seemed the ghost always had a way of knowing when there was someone in her catacombs. Footsteps echoed off the wall, the weak vibrations of sound passing through layers and layers of rock until they reached her. If there was someone in her tunnels, she seemed to know. She always seemed to know.
It didn't take the ghost long to find the visitor. He had wandered his way down to the heart of the tunnels, standing in the cavern that marked the very epicentre. Anima approached from behind, invisible for the time being, should he happen to turn around. The visitor was male. Tall, with a solid build that his clothing did a good job of obscuring. Curious, Anima listened to his words. "Sympati, I pray for your merciful hands to ease the suffering of those trapped in this plane. I pray for pity on those they have left behind in this world. Lastly I pray for your mercy to fall on those who would reap such misery, for I shall show them none."
Sympati? For all her night-time wanderings, Anima remained fairly oblivious to the culture of the world above. In life, perhaps she had acknowledged the Divines. But trapped in the tunnels, she knew nothing about them. "Who are you speaking to?" she questioned.
As the words left her, so too did her invisibility. In a swirl of ethereal smoke, she took form. Now, a girl stood behind Tim. She was young, looking to be around ten years of age - the amount of time that Anima had spent in the catacombs. Her hair was pale, worn in two braids, tied at the ends with ribbons. Her face held a childlike innocence, with wide eyes and a curious smile. She was clothed in a simple dress. The girl would have been rather adorable, were it not for the fact that her skirt was torn away from the knee downward, revealing broken legs. Jagged tibia stabbed through her shins, a complex fracture in each leg. But despite this, she stood normally, and watched the paladin curiously.

Tim, not to entirely suprised by the voice, turning around to address the speaker. His eyes sunk once he saw it was a young girl standing there, whether it was actually the spirit of a child or a spirit that was as old as she appeared Tim. Thinking carefully about how to respond, " Sympati is one of the Divines. Whose pity and compassion gave water to man." He slowly took a single step forward before crouching low, " So what's a youngster like yourself doing down here in the cities dark underbelly? " the question posing a purpose, to determine whether the little girl before him was the soul of a dead child or 2 as a reflection of its age.

Anima regarded the man, tilting her head in confusion at his explanation of Sympati. Divine? She was unfamiliar with the term. But somehow, this man seemed to believe that Sympati had given water to all of mankind. Unlikely. Anima scoffed, "Huh. I don't think she can hear you. It's just skeletons down here. No Sympati."
She smirked at the man, and drifted up a few inches into the air. Her legs, ethereal broken bones protruding through the flesh, hung uselessly below her. "Youngster?"
Anima laughed. A laugh of true amusement. She didn't know how old she was, but 'youngster' was not a term that she would choose. Ten years in the catacombs, and no sleep during the nights. She was older than the shape she had taken, that much was certain. Without a moment of hesitation, her form changed again. One moment, there was a young girl with broken shins. The next, the ghost of a man floated in the air. He was skeletally thin, ribs and hip bones sticking out, stomach and cheekbones sunken in. Wrinkles at the man's eyes suggested that he had lived life and seen much. But the smirk remained on Anima's new face. "Youngster, am I?" She spoke with the older man's voice. "No. No, I have no age. I've lived in these tunnels a decade, and who knows how long I lived before that..."

Tim watched as the little girl morphed into an old man, a slight smile on the man's face, glad that his plan to goad out any real answers from the spirit. Listening closely to the now male spirit's words, " So is this your true form, or do you even have one? " he questioned. Demons are easy to deal with, Tim thought, after all with a spirit one has to work to learn what they are up to. " More importantly what has kept you down here for ten long years?"
