Khali, the one who is nothing. For centuries, perhaps even since the creation of man, there have been those to resist the 'love' of the Divines. There have been those who have seen through the shallow lies painted for us by the priests of the Divines. The Divines do not love us, they fear us, they drive us to death, they revel in our own destruction. There have always been those who have realized this and revolted against the Divines.
But they always failed, either by divine intervention or by death through age. No matter how they fought, they could never make progress. Until now, until Khali. Khali is our name, the symbol we mark upon ourselves to show that we will not be deceived. The one who is nothing guides our path, for it is only in realizing that nothing can stop us do we see our true calling.
We are necromancing knights, so have we always been. For centuries we've hidden ourselves in the tunnels below Etirath. Far below the catacombs, far below the light of the sun, we practice our arts. Long ago, before time memorable, these tunnels were carved to remove the presence of Diabol'ferrum from the land. They succeeded, mostly, but Diabol'ferrum is a growing metal, it spreads throughout the rock below your feet, corrupting it. It feeds off of fear, and disrupts all magic taking place near it. Constantly expanding, we are forced to dig deeper to remove it, and in doing so we hide further than anyone could ever go.
Among us, some have never seen the light of Den, and they count it as a blessing. Down here, among the stones, we thrive. New magics are created everyday, the blood of the weak fuel the strong, and our strength grows. Soon, we will overtake the surface and overthrow the Divines. We will bathe this world in our own fire, cleansing it of the Divine's touch. Founded by one who is oldest among those that still draw breathe, our belief is that one day this world will be free of the tyranny of the Divines.
The Aged One is attributed to the founding of our organization. When Etirath was still in the grip of the mages, before the time of The Bloody One, he gathered the true believers and hide them away in the tunnels. Upon the arrival of The Bloody One, we were released for a short time to learn all that we could. He was the greatest ruler Etirath ever possessed, his power exceeded that of even the divines, for they feared him enough to form a new, vile creation.
Theolandra is the bane of our existence. She is the reason we must hide ourselves here, the reason we no longer roam the streets of Etirath. One day, however, we will see her eliminated. With the hand of the Divines removed, nothing could possibly stop our implementation of the new, pure rule of man.
Follow the eight forms of Khali, friend, and we will be unstoppable. Learn these, sisters and brothers, lest you stray from the path and need to be shown true power.
1. We look not to Den to worship for light, for we shall make our own.
2. We heed not the tears of Sympati, for the weakness of her pity is poison.
3. We feel not the love of Milova, embracing only our own primal passions.
4. We need not the vengeance of Idvesta, seeking out and destroying those who might strike us first.
5. We hear not the call of Svitani, for our purpose is found within us alone.
6. We rest not in Noc's darkness, crafting our own for whenever we tire.
7. And we strike not out on the path formed by Udel, we turn from her gaze to find our own path, carving it bit by bit.
8. Among Khali, there is no need for Divines, nor Queens. Only man.
Hail be to the fire, for it shall cleanse this world! Hail be to the darkness, for it shall overtake the night! And hail be to Amaymon! May her rule destroy Etirath!
