The Authern Homestead The Authern Homestead has been around for several generations and is well known for their generosity in Etirath's time of need. Their deeds may not have been heroic to say the least, but their support was most welcomed. Food and shelter were provided by the family and goods were sent to the infantry to support those who fought on the battle ground. Unfortunately, sometime during the hundred day battle, their home had been pillaged before it burned to the ground and many family members slain. Those lucky enough to live after, soon found themselves homeless, injured and hungry. They lived precariously among those charitable enough and found refuge at the edge of the rural district. Gerald Kestrel had allowed the Autherns to stay with him in his humble dwelling and they in turn provided a helping hand. Years passed before the Autherns would be able to afford the cost to build and furnish their home. And a couple more to construct. Ged was generous enough to offer a bit of his land to do what they wished. George, the father of Harold, decided they would herd animals once again as their main income, everything else would be extra and placed in storage. More years passed and the Authern name was soon forgotten. They would have to start over like everyone else who suffered. And that, my friends, marks the end of this little story.
