Eoin was speechless, unable to respond to Eleanor and the man that stood behind her. A pang of pain hit his heart as he looked at the aged woman, had it really been that long? She was practically a child the last time they saw each other, and now- He nodded as she spoke, completely unable to reply to her. For so long, he had almost forgotten it all. Forgotten, no, that was the wrong word. Left behind, he never truly forgot anyone he loved. However, he was a Faun, a pureblood.
He did not forget anyone, but he moved on. His emotional body able to move on better than any human could and in such a different way that it made it hard to understand for even him. As the door closed, he barely managed to whisper out a reply, "Yes, you too-" Then Loretta and Eleanor were gone.
For a few moments, he stood still. Then, wordlessly, he turned around and began walking away from the cottage. He tried to make sense of his feelings, arraign them in a manner that made sense. When he saw Eleanor, he could not stop the old flame that burned inside of him, it hurt, but it was a pleasant hurt that he cradled for just a moment before putting it away. These feelings he felt for Loretta, they were strong, like a great fire that burned within the middle of a forest. He was a Faun, he would protect his forest, but he would also nurture the fire. It was a balance he enjoyed doing, and within moments, his feelings were made up.
Suddenly, he heard the voice of Loretta call out to him. Turning, he quickened his step and jogged back towards the cottage where she stood, speaking about the tunic she had borrowed on her first day. As he walked, Eoin thought about everything he liked about Loretta, her hair, her eyes, her voice, how she walked and the things she spoke. He could not think of a single thing he did not like about her.
Without hesitation, he stepped close to the threshold of the home as Loretta finished speaking, leaned in, and kissed her gently on the lips. Taking the tunic, he pulled back and spoke, "I'll see ye tomorrow, Loretta." Turning back, he started jogging back towards the city, headed for the gardens. His tail wagging uncontrollably behind him.
