He asked the Lady's least favorite question. Hearing it put a bad taste in her mouth, and fed that hungry seed of doubt within her. Fall brought the changing leaves, winter brought the frost, and - like those unbending truths - Theolandra was expected to deliver answers. She remembered what she told Timore.. People need faith, and she must lead them to it. That responsibility would comtinue to lead her above all others - for now. How long that would last, the queen was unsure.
"Well, Syxx, that is entirely up to you." Pale tendrils of hair, curled slightly after drying, fanned out in the breeze. She glanced at him from under the lamplight before continuing. "If meditation soothes your mind you can continue coming here," she offered. "Covered and on land," she added with a barely noticeable smirk. Part of her couldn't wait to tell Neala about their bizarre meeting.

Syxx customarily bowed, but it felt unwarranted. He looked deeply into Theolandra's eyes one last time this evening.
"Thank you for the blessing. We will meet again."
Syxx chose not to stay near the city. His eyes began to glaze white as he turned from Theolandra and took his stride into the night. A low vibrancy faded in the atmosphere as he strolled into darkness. He would sleep beneath the stars, and hopefully, dream a long dream. His mind was in no shortage of inspiration.
