"The two beside each other, Elanor in the bright red and Loretta in the light blue."
Cider was just as spicy shooting from one's nose as it was going down the throat. When he heard the name Authern a flag went up in Willem's memory. Hadn't he heard it somewhere before? Recently? He pushed the thought aside for another moment to avoid being rude and follow Harold's gestures. But seeing Loretta across the way at the end of her father's hand, hearing her name brought it all back in one shameful instant. Just nights ago this man's daughter was half naked in front of him! Oh, Divines protect him from a father's wrath.. A fit of coughing forced Willem to close his eyes and pound at his chest with a closed fist. The honey-colored liquid dripped from his nostrils and chin until he moved his large hand to wipe it away.
"For-forgive me." He turned back to the bartender to return the now empty mug. It was moreso just an excuse to turn away from the sight of his daughter. Images of that night kept clouding thoughts against his will. Why? Why didn't he walk Loretta all the way to the door that night? Why hadn't he met this man before?! The answer was unclear.. But if he had done what he should have he could've avoided this pickle. "Don't you h-" Another cough interrupted to clear his itchy throat, "hate it when that happens?"

Harold laughed heartily as Willem spluttered his drink. Coughs wracked the young man's body as he pounded his fist into his chest. Harold's smile held mirth as he watched the lad wipe the liquid that fell from his nose away. He half turned towards the vendor to return his empty glass and shook his head when they offered to refill. "That's alright, there's no need for another sir, one's just fine."
"For-forgive me." Willem managed to gasp from what little air entered the man. He no longer faced the crowd as he returned his emptied mug. Harold simply shrugged as he didn't need to apologize to him but manners were manners.
"Don't you h-" he coughed once more which seemed to help him clear his throat completely. "hate it when that happens?"
"Every time.." he answered the smile never leaving his wrinkled face.

"Let go of your fears. Ignore your sadness. Let the body that's felt whatever pain it has die, and let the real you be born from its skin. Please, beautiful miss, frolic with me through the flowers? I see a patch over there that looks particularly... er... frollicable."
Seeking eyes scanned Quinn's features, unsure of what to think. This woman, she just... she was so different from everyone else. The rest just left her alone, allowing her to mourn the passing of Daniel in her own way. She could scare them away, without feeling like she had done something wrong. Quinn had... a persistent quality. And she sounded like she cared. But Erin couldn't just let her pain die. She couldn't let Daniel die. He had done so much for her. Too leave him, after he had stayed with her for so long, seemed the greatest cruelty.
"I-I'm sorry, but... I can't." The sorrow in Erin's voice rang in their small bubble of the world, the sounds of the party a muffled background. Her eyes held in them a sad longing, as if some small sliver of her was tempted by the offer. Her voice, despite her greater height, sounded so small. For a moment, strong, calm Erin had caved.
"I'm sorry.

At last, my peace. I found it in her eyes.

Quinn nodded slowly.
"I understand. It can be hard sometimes," she pensively replied.
I wouldn't be here if you killed your past properly, you worthless fu-
"But maybe you can learn to in time," she continued, interrupting her own train of thought. "Maybe you can... go through whatever you need to go through. I can help you do that."
The socialite grinned warmly, opening her arms wide.
"And when you can, you'll see how fun the world can be," she said, spinning in a quick circle, her dress billowing around her. When she revolved to face the girl once again, her expression had morphed into one of curiosity.
"I don't think I ever caught your name."
